Ashley Kang is the Senior Director of External Affairs and Communications for Grid United. She develops the company’s communication strategy and oversees communications across Grid United’s corporate and project portfolio, with a core focus on cultivating and maintaining the company’s corporate reputation. This work spans media relations, stakeholder communications, and the digital and visual storytelling that brings Grid United’s transmission projects to life for the communities and audiences they serve. Ashley also leads the company’s public affairs and federal government affairs functions, directing engagement with Congress, federal agencies, and industry organizations.
In collaboration with executive leadership, technical leads, and the development team, Ashley ensures that project stakeholders, media, trade organizations, policymakers, and other external audiences have a clear understanding of Grid United’s mission and the critical role interregional transmission plays in strengthening the reliability and resiliency of the U.S. electric grid.
Ashley holds a bachelor’s degree with double majors in art history and classical studies from Rice University and a master’s degree in global communication, with a focus on communication and information technology in international affairs and East Asia, from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.
