Al is the Chief Operating Officer of Grid United. Al describes himself as an “energy industry junky” who is happiest when working on complex and challenging projects that have significant positive impacts on society. Al’s job is to make sure Grid United operates day-to-day as well as ensuring we are ready for the challenges that lie ahead in the future. Al’s work focuses on the careful but relentless pursuit of our stakeholder first approach to development and ensuring that the wide range of activities that go into large linear infrastructure development come together to make successful projects. Al also uses his experience in large scale energy to make sure our projects are truly “ready to build.” Al is passionate about people and their potential and takes great joy working with truly diverse, high trust, high performing teams. Al is married to Star, they have three sons, and love time family together in the outdoors.
Al holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Manchester University in the UK and is a Professional Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers.
