Ben Semmes is a Project Development Director at Grid United.
Prior to Grid United, Ben worked for seven years at Houston-based Cheniere Energy, which in 2016 brought online the first world-scale LNG terminal in the continental United States. As a director, Ben was responsible for financial modelling, valuation analysis and mergers and acquisitions. He has led due diligence efforts in support of potential investments across the energy landscape, and spent most of 2017 working in Cheniere’s Santiago, Chile office to complete a strategic power divestment for the company. He began his career as a newspaper reporter, holding positions at several publications in California and Pennsylvania.
Ben graduated magna cum laude from Colgate University with a bachelor’s degree in American history and Spanish literature. Ben also holds an MBA from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon.
