As Director of HVDC Engineering, Sid is responsible for leading and supporting various HVDC activities for Grid United’s transmission portfolio, including HVDC line design interfaces and HVDC VSC converter station engineering.
Prior to joining Grid United, Sid led the Operations & Maintenance group for the 2GW Quebec-New England Phase II HVDC multi-terminal link and 150MVar STATCOM installation. He also supported front-end engineering and design activities with HVDC suppliers & consultants on multiple projects and project execution on Sunrise Wind offshore HVDC.
Sid holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from UW-Milwaukee and a masters in management from Harvard. He is also a working member of IEEE, CIGRE and EPRI HVDC.
